Advice To The Players Presents: SHAKESPEARIAN IDOL
Saturday October 25th, 2014 at 7:00 pm
The Barnstormers Theatre, Tamworth, NH
Shakespearian Idol is Back! Be part of New Hampshire's newest talent competition. Advice To The Players is putting on our third annual Gala Benefit Competition “Idol” style, and we need you!
How it works: pair a piece of Shakespeare with a song – any song – and take to the stage to compete with fellow performers as the audience votes on who will be NH's 2014 Shakespearian Idol. George Cleveland emcees, and our live panel of judges features some of the NH theatre scene's rising stars and veterans.
The Bard meets the Pop Charts with your most creative combinations. A sonnet that goes with your favorite ballad? A monologue that has always reminded you of Lady Gaga? How about a duet that would fit perfectly in the Romeo and Juliet balcony scene? Ever wished King Lear would just break into “Stormy Weather?” Now's your chance at our one-night gala extravaganza!
Prizes awarded! Come show us what you've got!
Family-friendly; adults and kids welcome to participate.
No audition necessary.
Karaoke-style sound or a capella .
Free entry and refreshments for performers. (Tickets regularly $10)
Contestant slots are limited, so get in touch now!
