Who We Are
Advice to the Players was founded in 1999 by Artistic Director Caroline Nesbitt to bring William Shakespeare’s richly passionate plays to vibrant life in the Lakes and White Mountain regions of New Hampshire.  Our unique company combines seasoned theater professionals, enthusiastic community members, and energetic teens.

What We Do
Teen mentoring is at the heart of our programs.  Students work onstage, backstage, or even in the box office while learning from theater professionals.  Besides earning highschool credit, they learn valuable skills in literacy, setting and keeping goals, cooperative problem solving and teamwork, self confidence, and community service; all steps toward becoming productive, creative adults.

Who Participates?
Besides the core professionals of the company, any student who is interested and willing to do the work is welcome.  Just call us up!  No auditions, no charge: just interest.

Who Benefits?
ATTP’s productions serve towns throughout the Lakes and White Mountains regions.  Our work with teens and communities has been recognized by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the Alfred Quimby Fund, the Smith-Denison Foundation, and a broad base of individual supporters.  In the last two years, ATTP has received awards from the New Hampshire Theater Awards, including General Excellence in the Professional Theater category in 2005.
