Shakespeare and the Language that Shaped a World

Saturday, April 9, 2016
1pm, The Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, NH

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, Advice To The Players is presenting a 45 minute Tour-de-force performance at the Currier Museum in Manchester at 1pm on April 9. April 9 marks the opening day of the Currier's exhibit "First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare" — and ATTP is providing the live entertainment for the Family Day Opening of the Exhibition. Tickets to Shakespeare and the Language that shaped a World can be reserved on the Currier's website, both the performance and the exhibit are free of charge.

Shakespeare and the Language that shaped a World shares a brilliant glimpse of William Shakespeare's works and words, as well as their contextual history. The piece was composed by Kevin G. Coleman, Director of Education at the world renowned Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. Shakespeare scenes and speeches are inter-cut with dynamic narration serving as the perfect introduction to Shakespeare, while also providing enough depth, insight, and trivia to keep those familiar with the Bard engaged in this vibrant (his)story. This performance was designed to delight an all-ages audience and to teach as well as entertain.

ATTP brings SLaW to life with a multi-generational company of New Hampshire actors. The cast of 6 will embody your favorite Shakespeare characters, some you haven't heard of, and give the audience the scoop on 'why Shakespeare'. The cast features ATTP veterans: Emma Bickford, Chris Boldt, Martha Nichols, Josh Nungesser, Angela Hope Smith, and Bill Viau — who will deliver the heart of Shakespeare's canon in under an hour. Join us on April 9 at the Currier Museum to honor the legacy of the Bard.
