Thank you for supporting our 23rd season, The Masks We Choose To Wear. Advice To The Players is committed to creating art for our community in a safe environment for our performers and our audience. While it was daunting at first, when the pandemic forced us to come up with new and innovative ways to deliver our performances, we did what we always do as artists – we leaned on our creativity and focused on how live theater could help us navigate the times in which we live.
ATTP is also committed to providing a supportive atmosphere for early career professionals, and this was never more important than it was during the early stages of the pandemic when the performing arts, like so many aspects of our daily lives, were put on hold.
"The opportunities I've had in the past year with ATTP have really helped me grow as an artist, in acting – and especially in directing and developing my teaching artistry skills working with teens. It's a joy to be part of a company that empowers young artists through fulfilling and meaningful work." – Sara-Ann Bailinson, Plymouth State University Class of 2023

This season we were able to hire a large number of artists and pay them a fair wage. Of the 31 paid artists that joined us in 2022…
20 (65%) are from New Hampshire
16 (52%) are early career professionals/emerging artists
3 (10%) are BIPOC (as compared with less than 3% of our county), exceeding our goal of doubling the diversity represented in our county
11 (35%) worked additional contracts as Teaching Artists and nearly 100% of our paid artists (30 of 31) have education/teaching artist backgrounds reinforcing a key component of our mission – mentoring students and emerging artists
Does your employer offer matching gifts? This is an easy way to double the impact of your giving. Check with your company’s Human Resources department for more information. Retirees may be eligible too!
This is just one of the many ways that you can help. You can also bring a friend to a performance, refer a student to one of our education programs, or include Advice To The Players in your will. Visit www.advicetotheplayers.org for details.
Looking ahead, Advice To The Players is moving (again) at the end of 2022 so our Holiday Production of Twelfth Night will be scaled back this year; more details coming soon. In 2023, we are looking forward to the NH Festival of Shakespeare for high school students at PSU, War of the Roses Pt. 1 in August and Much Ado About Nothing in September, as well as staged readings featuring upcoming playwrights, Open Mic Nights, and more!
