Announcing our 2026 Mainstage Production:
ROMEO & JULIET
Romeo & Juliet was a gateway to Shakespeare for so many of us. It’s positioned in pop culture and public school curriculum, and is one of Shakespeare’s most produced pieces.

We think one reason for this is that R&J has a particular knack for meeting each generation that encounters it, and so has a particular potential to be reborn with every generation, every new reader, every new production.

Our own production, directed by Sarah Corbyn Woolf and featuring an ensemble of both local and visiting artists, will explore how earnestness and eagerness collide in great joy, great tragedy, and above all, great hope. We’ll poke at some assumptions about this story (mostly inherited from the Victorians), dig into just how awkward two teenagers can be, and seek subtle, deep truths about family, community, and love.

Once again (but even more exciting this time), we’ve partnered with Castle in the Clouds to bring several performances not only to their grounds but up to the Castle itself! Yes, the one with a balcony…
